6 Aspects you should Consider When Choosing the Right Electric Scooter for yourself

There are 6 aspects which are safety, dimension, performance, comfort, cost, riding condition.

1. Safety

Safety might be the most important thing for a beginner. There are two main factors affecting safety are braking system and lights.

For braking system, there are few kinds of brake in the market, such as Disc brake, drum brake, pedal brake, V-brake, Electric brake. Disc brake and electric brake are the best. It stops the scooter very quick. Mujimoji X7  and X8 have triple brake system which will gives you fast braking and more safety feature.

Lights are also an important factor, especially in the dark night. You want the headlight to be in a higher position. When it is low, other vehicles won’t see you as easily, compared to having a headlight on the vertical tube or handlebar.

There are different solutions as you can see and you can choose your preference.

Now, here is the solution for a “Nothing” scenario...

In the worst case scenario, you don’t have any light at all. Then you buy one and attach it to the handlebars. Please, do not ride e-scooter without lights. Mujimoji X7 and X8 offers very bright lED head light and tail light. It is safer to ride in the dark road.

 2. Dimension

There are some different sizes E-scooters in the market. When you choose a scooter, you will need to think about how tall are you, what is your weight, and do you need to carry the scooter sometimes?

If you are very tall and your foot size is very big, i suggest you buy a bigger electric scooter, otherwise X7 and X8 are the perfect size for most of people. The open size is 1083 mm * 420mm * 1186mm, folding size is 1083 mm * 420mm * 460mm.

The weight is about 13 kg for X7 , 18 kg for X8. It is light-weight. Even you are a girl or a kid, you can easily carry it to the bus or in the school or at work place.

 3. Performance

Lets talk about the speed and how fast you want to go, Yes, i am talking about the battery. For beginners, 25 km/h is a good max speed (like Mujimoji X7 and X8), but if you like faster, there are some E-scooters can reach 40km/h, such as Mujimoji X9.

How much power do you need ?

Are you riding your scooter to school , to work or just for daily use? 250w motor will get the job done. But for myself, i like more power, Mujimoji X7 and Mujimoji X8 both have 350w power motor, it will give you more power on the road. If you like more power, our X9 offers 550 w power motor. It is totally enough for all your needs.

How fast do you want to drive?

In the market, there are electric scooters that provide speeds from 8 mph to 50 mph.

I suggest:

For kids (beginners) 8 mph

For experience teenager, Adults 10-15 mph

For experience adults 15-20 mph

For adults who wants to travel long distance 20 mph and more

MujiMoji X7 and X8 have max speed 25 km/h

How far do you want to go?

Let's talk about the max distance where electric scooter can go.

If you ride a scooter to school or to work or go shopping within 25 km, MujiMoji X7 offers 25 km max distance and MujiMoji X8 offers 45 km max distance. They will get the job well done. Some electric scooters offers longer distance, such as 45-100km. MujiMoji X9 will offer upto 100 km max distance. It is pretty enough for long distance travel. Moreover, if you drive to school or work, you can recharge the battery. So it is very convenience.

 4. Comfort

Comfort is also an important feature when you ride a electric scooter, or electric bike. Some people like to ride a electric scooter with a seat, but mostly they are older people or someone who have stand issues. It is all depends on you.

Tire is also a factor affecting comfort, There are solid rubber tires and inflated air tires on the market.

Inflated air tires

Electric scooter solid rubber tyres

Solid rubber tires, as the name states are made from rubber. They are completely filled up with solid rubber.

Even though manufacturers state that they make solid rubber tires that have good absorbent qualities, it is not quite true. These tires are pretty hard, well, because they are solid… There is nothing that absorbs the hard surface, except the rubber.

I’m not saying that all solid rubber tires are the same. There are different softness/hardness of the rubber that they are made of. The softness of the rubber can only make a slight difference that you’ll barely feel. That’s it.

According to manufacturers, solid rubber tires are wearproof and explosionproof. I agree with the explosion part, but I do not fully agree with wearproof. Rubber, like any other material warns out. Especially if you’ll use your scooter for a daily commuting.

If you are a person who prefers a more comfortable ride, you should definitely go with inflated air tires. This was the choice that I’ve made a long time ago and I am so happy with that choice!

Inflated air tires

Inflated air tires are also made from rubber. However, inside they have an inner tube filled up with air. The structure is very similar to bicycle or motorcycle tires. The only visible difference is size. Electric scooter tires are somewhere between 3.00-4, 6-10″. Most of electric scooters for teenager and adults on the market are 8.5" and 10". Of course, Bigger tire size is more comfortable. MujiMoji X7 and X8 have options for 8.5 inchs and 10 inchs.

One of the coolest part about inflated tires that it absorbs the shocks really well. They are better for off-roads and rough surfaces. It will definitely make your ride more comfortable and smooth. You definitely need to check MujiMoji X7 and MujiMoji X8, it comes with 10 inchs inflated tire and 3 month warranty for the tire.

5. Cost of electric scooter

The cost of electric scooter is between $200 - $6000 or more.

For kids and adult beginner, you can spend $200 - $600.

For adults who wants to ride to work or school : You want a more reliable, easy-to-fold, faster, elegant, fast charging e-scooter… If you decide on high-quality materials and features, you have to invest between $500-$1,500.

For adults who wants to go off road or serious fun, you might spend over few thousands dollar.

 6. Riding condition

This part talks about when you ride a electric scooter, you might need to go on the hill. Compare 200w power motor and 350w power motor, of course 350w power motor will be easier to climb a hill. For example, MujiMoji X7 and X8 have 350w power motor which can climb 15° hill. It is enough to ride on the road in the city. However, if you want to go off-road, you might need 500w or 1000w power motor.
